Phone cards are versatile calling plans which has many advantages. It is a mode of saving money on telephone bills. It is easy to purchase; no paper works are involved. It is easy to use, one can call from his office telephone, or home or even from public telephone offices. The connectivity is faster, particularly after the introduction of PIN less dialing feature.
As soon as a phone card is bought the card is assigned a number called Personal Identification Number (PIN). In order to make a long distance call one has to dial the PIN followed by the country code, area code and the required telephone number. Memorizing all these numbers is certainly difficult; it is more difficult or even impossible for a person who makes frequent long distance calls to various countries.
In order to help such persons, the calling companies have introduced what is called as PIN less dialing concept. Here, as soon as the card is bought, the caller is given number called the access number. Now, the caller can make use of the helpline of the calling company and register the various telephone numbers he frequently dials. Whenever he wants to call any of these numbers, the caller will just dial the access number. Then the helpline will take the caller to the utility where he has registered the various telephone numbers. The caller will have to just choose the required telephone number and press the ‘dial’ button of his mobile, and then the caller is connected. The advantage of this utility is the caller need not memorize the numbers and the connectivity is faster.
