There are a plenty of calling cards available in the market today. Majority of these are of two types, postpaid and prepaid calling cards. The type of card a customer opts for depends upon a number of factors and an important aspect is the set of preferences that differ from customer to customer.
The functioning of a postpaid card is similar to that of a credit card. You can use it to your heart’s content and then make the payments of the bills at the month end, whereas prepaid cards are the ones that are paid for in advance. You buy a phone card of certain value and then each time you make a call, the specific amount of that particular call is deducted automatically from your account and you are left with a balance minus this call cost. And then when your balance gets exhausted fully, either you discard the card, if it is use and throw or else get it topped up, if it is a rechargeable one.
There are a number of advantages you get from using a prepaid card. There are no hassles pertaining to monthly bills. So you are saved from any extra charges or payments at the month end. Prepaid cards help in keeping a check on phone expenses and so there are lesser chances of over expenditure. After being fully used up, you cannot place calls through your card unless and until you buy a new one or get the earlier one recharged, and this helps in keeping a check on outgoing calls.
